back again

After a long hiatus from the gym I returned like a good girl this morning. It was spring break and I only got to go once, because I had extra kids and its not like my husband lets me go. I am switching up my food, and trying some new stuff. The high protein thing is good but gets boring so fast. So here is today so far:

Breakfast:
A bowl of organic oatmeal made with: almond milk, pecans, ground flax, a banana cinnamon, and agave nectar. Coffee with half and half and agave nectar.

Snack:
A smoothie made with the rest of my coffee, three tablespoons of fat free plain yogurt, a scoop of chocolate whey, a tablespoon of agave nectar, 1/2 cup of strawberries. And one cheese stick.

Plan for lunch:
A giant salad with homemade dressing, lots of veggies, diced ham and a hard boiled egg.

Snack:
a handful of tamari almonds and some dried apricots

Dinner:
Black Bean Soup
corn muffins

I am having a hard time..

I keep forgetting to post here! I have been going to the gym everyday, but have not been so strict with my diet. I had fried chicken over the weekend yummy, and tons of desserts..it was a desserty kind of weekend. Today: breakfast: two scrambled eggs, a cup of leftover sausage gravy, on a piece of toast, coffee with cream and agave nectar. Snack: eating right now banana. Lunch: leftover baked BBQ chicken coleslaw and baked beans. Snack: tiny luna bar and a clementine orange. Dinner: teriaki beef and stir fried veggies with ramen noodles. Bedtime snack: one cup kashi crunch cereal and 1/2 cup skim milk with 1/2 a banana sliced.
I did 45 minutes at the gym this morning, and after I clean the bathroom I am taking the dog for a quick walk. I am not feeling motivated, but I have to get the stinky litter box changed...yuck.
The rewards of exercising are paying off, people are starting to notice my weight loss yay!

Tuesday

Well I bombed out yesterday. The gym was closed, so I planned on coming home to do yoga, then I got distracted by something and it never happened. I did good on eating though. Breakfast: 2 eggs over easy, 2 pieces of turkey bacon, one sliver of locally made bread toasted without butter. Snack was some cottage cheese. I had a chicken gyro on whole wheat with lettuce and one T. of tzaziki sauce, and a banana. Snacking later on: a cheesetick, lots of tamari almonds, an apple with peanut butter and lots of water and iced tea. Dinner was one large helping of my red lentil dahl on rice with a chicken breast. I snacked on a few bites of my son's popcorn later.
Today was a little better. I made it to the gym for 30 minutes of treadmill, the other machines were busy so I left. Breakfast was a whole wheat bagel with one scrambled egg, one slice of turkey bacon, and one T. of fat free cream cheese. I had a clementine and a healthy nut bar for snack and a few grapes. I finished off the half a cup of the leftover dahl, which was more like eating soup. I also had a hard boiled egg, and some turkey lunch meat wrapped around a cheesestick. Snack to follow includes some more tamari almonds, maybe some sunflower seeds, and a pear which should hold me until dinner. I have my water aerobics class tonight which I am so looking forward too. Its always a good time and my friends are very supportive right now, which I really need. Have a super day and I will try to check in tomorrow. :)

hello ...

Well it was a tough week last week..I am aiming for more blogging and better eating. If you read my other blog you can see what I am eating for dinner. Like I have said before, it is my goal to avoid carbs during the day and enjoy them mostly with dinner. Since we went to breakfast this morning, all that went out the window. I had hash browns with salt and ketchup, 2 eggs, chicken fried steak and a few bites of biscuits and gravy, although this meal was shared with my son it was still some hefty eating. My husband for some reason thought that cupcakes was a nice valentine gift...while I had one, the rest are for them. There are 2 left and let me just say it is torture just knowing they are there. I am putting one in my son's lunch for tomorrow, and hopefully Gene will eat the other one. Goal for this week: fruit for snacks! here's hoping.. I want to maybe do more in the gym this week, if there is an eliptcal machine available tomorrow I am aiming for 5-10 minutes, in addition to my 20 minutes on the treadmill.

on and off

Okay so I have been off of the wagon, but I am on now!
We went to chilli's yesterday where I stuffed myself silly. And I have leftovers to boot. I am having lunch at an Indian place today, but I promise to behave myself. I need some hot stuff to scare away this cold that is haunting me. I did 20 minutes on the treadmill today and a breakfast of: coffee with fat free half and half and hazelnut flavored agave, two easy over easy and two pieces of very small sausage links.
I put some fat pants in the donation bin, cause they are too big for me! Many people have remarked that I have lost weight, but I am not getting on a scale anytime soon. I will just aim for a size 16 in the next year or so, then I would at least be able to shop at more main stream stores. I dread this week..cause Valentines day is one of the junkiest holidays, and I love me some chocolate.

Another so so day

I had an okay day..well as days go. I started the day off right by heading to the gym again for another 20 minutes on the treadmill. But I went to the grocery store and bought this huge bag of portobella mushrooms, with the intention of making fried mushroom fries..if you have not had them they are divine deep fried morsels of heaven. So guess what? I am going to make them. here's how my food intake look for the day so far:

Breakfast:
two eggs over easy
one piece of rosemary bread(local bakery bread)
one orange

Snack:
banana
a handful of almonds
cheesetick

Lunch:
small salad
two small leftover oven baked BBQ chicken thighs
about 3oz baked beans

Snack: this is where I started to go astray.
Three of my tiny golden raisin and oatmeal almond cookies. They really were small. Another slice of the rosemary bread toasted with a laughing cow cheese spread on it.
A few more almonds.

I am getting ready to make dinner:
Hamburgers on whole wheat buns
sweet potato fries
salad
fried mushroom strips with blue cheese dipping sauce

Now I know the mushroom fries are not a good choice..but I bought the darn things sooo here I am. I will be using the rest of them tomorrow to make a lasagna with, in place of the meat, so that is a better choice for using them up.
Here's to another day..I am making better lifestyle choices..even if I am still clinging to my old ways. :) I love myself, I value myself, I am beautiful!

Reclaiming this space

No I did not make any new years resolution. I have however come to the conclusion that it is time to take charge of my life. I had physical last week and I found out I lost around 15lbs, with out even trying. So I know now is the time
I guess this came as I fired, yes fired one of my daycare families. It was a hard thing to do, but the mother was not respectful of me. I was feeling taken advantage of, and that is not fair to me or my family. I am losing money but, something always comes my way so no worries for me!

I stared this week off by going to the gym. We have several free gyms here in town and I need to be using them. I did 20 minutes on the tread mill yesterday and today, and I have my water aerobics class tonight which I have not attended in a week. So far today I have made decent choices for food:
Breakfast:
Homemade oatmeal mix(this has flax and pecans in it)
Blueberries in my oatmeal and a tsp of brown sugar
coffee with fat free and half and half and Agave nectar(does not jack up blood sugar, like other sweeteners and is natural)

Snack:
cheesetick
handful of roasted almonds
1 clementine orange

Lunch: I am eating lunch with Zach at school, so we will see how healthy that is.

Dinner;
BBQ chicken thighs
baked beans
coleslaw

I am allowing myself more carbs at dinner, because this is what works for me. I try to avoid too many carbs during the day and have them at dinner only. I am trying to get more protein and fruits and veggies in my diet..this has been hard for me.
